Join us in this urgent call for Congress to take bolder action on demining in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam!
Millions of Americans with heritage from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand celebrate Pii Mai, Songkran, and Solar New Year this week. For the last 50 years, this sacred week of peace has also been a forced time of grieving. On April 16th, 1973 American B-52 bombers and F-111 fighters retaliated to the North Vietnamese’s violation to cease-fire and hit the village of Tha Vieng, right outside the Plain of Jars in Xieng Khouang province, Laos.
The land of Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam is held hostage by unexploded ordnance (UXO) dropped by Americans over five decades ago. The war is not yet over.
Please ask your Representative to support funding for humanitarian demining programs today.
