Donation, not purchase

Your gift is a charitable donation to APOPO. It is not a purchase, a ticket, or an entry fee, and it does not buy a chance to win anything. As a thank-you, every donor receives a guaranteed gift after the tournament ends.

Thank-you gift terms

Every donor receives a guaranteed thank-you gift, delivered by email after the tournament ends on July 19, 2026, in the form announced for the campaign. Where the gift is a 26% discount code, it is a campaign code valid through December 31, 2026.

Donors whose chosen Country & HeroRAT wins the tournament additionally receive, after the final, a one-year digital HeroRAT adoption and an invitation to submit a name of their choosing for a future HeroRAT. The naming outcome is decided by a community vote on our official APOPO Facebook account, not a random draw, in August 2026.

Multiple Donation Levels
Donors may choose to donate 2×, 3×, 4×, or higher multiples of the standard entry amount. A donation at any of these levels grants the participant a corresponding number of reward bundles equal to the multiplier selected.

Each reward bundle includes:

One complimentary one‑year HeroRAT adoption, and one opportunity to propose a name for a future HeroRAT.

Reward bundles are issued individually and are not transferable. Naming opportunities are subject to APOPO’s internal review and approval processes.

All thank-you gifts are guaranteed at the moment of donating and are delivered after the tournament ends. They are a goodwill thank-you and are not prizes won by entry. No donation increases or improves any donor’s position.

Tax and receipting

Where a donor receives goods or services in return for a donation, the deductible portion may be reduced by the value of that benefit. Acknowledgments will reflect the value of the thank-you gift, per counsel guidance. In the United States, a prize valued at 600 dollars or more may require Form 1099 reporting, and the recipient is responsible for taxes on the prize. UK prize winnings are generally not taxed to the winner.

Data protection and consent

Personal data is processed under APOPO’s privacy policy [https://apopo.org/privacy-policy], in line with the GDPR. Data is used to administer the campaign, deliver the thank-you gift after the tournament, and, where the donor has opted in, to send campaign and follow-up communications.

Eligibility and governing law

Open to donors aged 18 or over. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, and the courts have jurisdiction, except where local law requires otherwise.
