Paris, 2 December 2025 — APOPO participated in the 2025 Forum Data & IA, organized by Groupe La Poste, where Anna Bouchier, APOPO’s Director of European Partnerships, delivered a keynote presentation to employees and partners of the group.
The Forum brought together more than 200 participants in person, with an additional 100 joining online. Attendees included La Poste staff working across data, digital transformation, innovation, operations, and strategic development, as well as selected external partners involved in technology and data-driven projects.
About the Forum Data & IA and Groupe La Poste
Groupe La Poste is one of France’s largest public service groups, employing approximately 240,000 people worldwide. In addition to postal and logistics services, the group operates in banking, digital services, e-commerce, and data, and has identified data governance and artificial intelligence as strategic priorities.
The Forum Data & IA is an internal event designed to share operational use cases, encourage cross-departmental learning, and support the responsible deployment of data and artificial intelligence tools across the organization.
APOPO’s Contribution: Animal Intelligence as Operational Data
In her keynote, Anna explored how APOPO’s work with trained animals (rats and dogs) intersects with data analysis, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Using concrete operational examples, she showed how animal detection behaviour produces high-quality data that can be systematically collected and analyzed.
The presentation focused on how this data supports training design, performance validation, operational planning, and safety management in complex field environments. By translating natural detection behaviour into structured datasets, APOPO strengthens oversight and reliability across its programs.
The keynote was recorded and made available internally to La Poste employees across the organization. Key points from the presentation will also be shared through internal communications and newsletters in 2026.
