APOPO’s HeroRATs are an incredibly efficient method to remove landmines, as they do not detect scrap metal the same way a metal detector does, detecting only hidden explosives, which are then safely removed. A HeroRAT can clear an area of land the size of a tennis court in 20 minutes, which would take a manual definer up to four days! Amazing, huh?!
